Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare officially comes out on Tuesday, November 2009.

The first footage showing off multiplayer component has been unveiled by Infinity Ward. One of the main feature that has been highlighted in it is the customizable killstreaks. It also rewards players earn for killing opponents consecutively in a set numbers. Through the video it is also showed the ability to command an AC-130 gunship.

Well, according to the video, few fresh point bonuses can also be earned during a match, such as Buzzkill (stopping an opponent’s killstreak) and Stuck! (sticking explosive Semtex on an opponent).

Gamers will like the game. It looks spectacular in the footage. One can also find through the footage that flower pots and dirt fly in the air are there much like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. In fact the pace feels chaotic.

The high retial cost of the game

It is not the war of prices. It is the war of affordability. After the decision of Activision to raise the price of MW2 to £54.99 in the UK market, the angered gamers there are venting spleen and sharing one common sentiment. They have decided not to bend down.

Recently TotalGamingNetwork researched that 68% of its PC using readership is planning not to support the publishers. Even forums are flooded with movement against Modern Warfare 2.

Whatever be the case in Britain. It is very doubtful that any official boycott will make any impact on the sales of Modern Warfare 2 that is significant.

To be very honest, Activision is doing some disgusting act by price hike. People, who are boycotting the game, hope that MW2 meets with as little success as possible in the UK market. Well, I think no boycott can ever decide the fate of the game. It is totally in the hands of the mainstream gaming audience.

Give your thought.
